ThemClones and Medusa Gig at Hard Rock Cafe,Pune

Well, yet another set of my pics published (a two-page spread :p ) in the August-September issue of Rock Street Journal magazine. As I mentioned in my previous post, this time its from the gigs of Themclones and Medusa, who played at the Hard Rock Cafe, Pune.

And this time, they got my name right and to avoid any confusion, they chose to print it in caps :)
and well, they put an edit in the July issue for the TAAQ pics (see my earlier post to know what this is about). Thanks to Andrew Lu and Kaustuv once again.

And more about the bands.. Themclones' song 'My Life' from their latest album 'Love.Hate.Heroes' has been featured in VH1. Apart from numerous concerts, gigs across, they were the chosen ones at Channel [V] LaunchPad in 2005 and also got voted as the ‘Best Band’ at JD Rock Awards twice in row in 2006 and 2007 along with the emphatic win as 2nd runners up at the Channel [V] AMP Big Break All Asia.To know more about them please visit http://themclones.com/ and check out their stuff.

Medusa is an electronic/rock band from Bombay.Check out more of their stuff in http://www.myspace.com/hellomedusa

Here's a snapshot of the the gigs from the mag. To read the full article by Kaustuv DasGupta, please buy a copy of RSJ.

TAAQ (Thermal and a Quarter) gig at Hard Rock Cafe,Pune

Well, this is my second set of pics in print. My first published image was in a Kerala daily called 'Mathrubhumi', featuring 'Pancharimelam' taken during the festival in Ettumanoor,my hometown. The guy who asked me to give him a copy to publish, offered me 100 INR, which I politely declined :) Instead I asked him to print my name along with the picture, which he agreed to. But when the newspaper came next morning,I was happy and sad.Happy, because they printed it (not in the front page though, that will be too ambitious) and sad, because there was no name alongside my picture.phew! anyways I decided not to go over it..end of story.

One day I got a call from Kaustuv saying theres TAAQ playing in HRC. I said "TAAQ"? "Thermal and a Quarter". Okie. I searched for them and found out that it is indeed a cool band from ban(g)(alore) and I could listen to some of their popular numbers online. Kau said "Dude bring your cam along..i need some pics to give to RSJ as I am covering this gig. "Cool" I said.

And it happened. It was a great night at the HRC,my first time there I guess. And I clicked away, the pics all came out grainy and dull, thanks to my 18-135 mm and the looow light. But anyways I sent them to Kau and he said he liked it (phew!thanks bro :) and sent them to RSJ. And they printed it!

But guess what? The credit goes to SREESANTH S..(imagine me crying)..so the mag is already out..cant do anything now..ok no probs..i sent a mail to the editor pointing out the mistake (in a very friendly way ofcourse, peace!) and he too loves peace, man I like it. He apologised for the mistake and told me that they would put it in the edits for the next issue and that they liked the pics (btw, they might publish some of my pics from Themclones and Medusa gigs in next months issue, hopefully with the correct name this time)

So thanks to Kaustuv and thanks to RSJ for publishing my pics..Here they are, along with the article. To read the full June issue, you have to buy the magazine ;)

The background of this artcle is another picture, which they edited. The full image looks like this..

So listen to TAAQ (they are awesome!)

Cheers \m/
